Valcambi Suisse was formed in 1961 as Valori & Cambi. In 1968, the company was purchased by Credit Suisse, creating the combination of companies that resulted in the name Valcambi Suisse. Credit Suisse controlled the refinery until the 21^st century, when ownership passed to European Gold Refiners, and eventually to another foreign firm.
